Follow-up post number 2 to Sunday’s post 4 days ago. This is a complete chart showing my progression during the cut. Sorry about how small it is (fitting 70 days worth of data points is a lot!) but it should still be legible. The individual points don’t matter as much though as it’s the general trend that does which is the main point of the post: fat loss is most definitely NOT a linear process. You can see how it’s quick in the beginning (attributable mostly to the water weight loss as I entered keto) but slows down at the end. In particular the last week and a half was very volatile on a day to day basis but the downward trend continued. I could have easily increased the deficit but didn’t want to or feel like it given I was ending at the 10 week mark. Not to mention you will have times where you have an extended plateau for no apparent reason even though you are still in a caloric deficit and making changes then will not be helpful. Consistency is the to success. Another interesting thing which I marked in red was how I experienced the keto “whoosh” effect with almost clock-like regularity every 5-7 days. The weight would flat-line or rise then drop right after. That is the other take away from this post especially for those following strict keto (which I would characterize as having a total daily intake of 30g net carbs or less per day): make sure to take a daily scale reading at the same time following the same routine but do NOT read much into it. Water retention can cause the reading to wildly fluctuate on a day-by-day basis. Me personally I had swings as much as almost 3 lbs on occasion. What you want to look at is the trend over time at weekly or even bi-weekly intervals as THAT is what will tell you if your caloric deficit is enough to acheive your goal average weekly loss. #success #accomplishyourgoals #putinthework #alwaysimproving #mindset #workhard #eatsmart #properdiet #propernutrition #macros #fatloss #keto #ketogains #ketogenic #lowcarbhighfat #lchf #eattolose #bodybuilding #fit #fitfam #fitness #fitspiration #goals #grind #igfit #igstrong #lifting #nerdslifttoo #physique #strong by itsjerzynotjersey
